Recognising the Importance of Charity
Recognition Express and the British Franchise Association (bfa) have smashed their 2006 target to raise £20,000 for nominated charity WellChild.
More than £22,000 will be given to the charity following a series of activities that took place throughout the year. WellChild is dedicated to caring for sick children and their families through care, support and research - whatever their needs, whatever their cause.
Events included a golf day sponsored by Loyds TSB Bank, which generated in excess of £7,000 and was won by Recognition Express Warwick owner Adrian Goodall. The bfa cup saw five teams compete in an 11-a-side tournament and raised more than £11,600. On an individual level, Russell Golding, owner of Recognition Express Cambridge, generated approx. £700 by taking part in this year's Bupa Great North Run. Zoe Waistell, marketing manager at Recognition Express headquarters was able to contribute more than £3,000 after running in a number of road races including the Great North Run, London Marathon and the Coventry Half Marathon.
Kedge Martin, cheif executive of WellChild, said: "We're delighted that Recognition Express and the bfa have raised so much money for these sick children - everyone involved should be proud of their efforts."
Managing director of Recognition Express and the bfa chairman Nigel Toplis said: "We're really pleased that we've managed to exceed our target amount - it's been fantastic to see the team pull together and devote so much of their personal time for such a worthwhile cause."
